the up to date largest high defined virtual 3D-city model of the
maila-push has been assigned by the City of Frankfurt to design the up to date largest high defined virtual 3D-city model of the world. It will include the entire inner city of Frankfurt and its surrounding areas, altogether about 280 hectares. It is planned to develop successively the entire city model with on a PPP (public private partnership). The resolution of this model is unrivalled: The ordered houses will be modelled in a resolution of 2 ? 20 cm and fully textured. The ground floor will not be based upon an aerial picture for being much to rough for a walking distance, it will be designed with curb stones, material changes of the ground, road markings and all terrestrial objects as stairs, ramps etc. Additionally the streets will be complete furnished (traffic lights, street lamps, bus stops, post boxes, dustbins, bollards, patio furniture, planter boxes, telephone boxes, benches, fences, walls etc.) and the original planting will be seen.
Shortly the most spectacular virtual 3D city model of the world will be formed on an industrial based procedure. The project frame is extremely short: maila-push will accomplished the just ordered city model until the end of April 2010.
The technical base will be the new developed 3D real time engine of maila-push. This software enables the user to move freely within a high graphical quality model like in a modern computer game. The entire model will be available also for the internet.
The model has been initialized by the city council of business in Frankfurt, Mr Markus Frank, it was ordered by the Frankfurt Economic Development GmbH and will be realized in close cooperation with the cadastral office and the development & planning department of the City Frankfurt.
The model serves mainly for marketing purposes (local marketing, city marketing) and monitoring planning processes.
